General Description (概要)

This course covers various concepts and theories of communication studies. It examines how they are embedded in our everyday life.
コミュニケーション学に関するさまざまな概念や理論を概観し、それらが私たちの日常とどのような関係にあるのかを検討する。
Important Notes: For Winter 2020/1, all the instructions (lectures, "discussions," exams, etc.) are given online. All the registered students participate in class activities “real time” using Zoom. Materials and other functionalities on Moodle will also be utilized.

The main purpose of this class is to survey various concepts and theories of communication from an everyday vantage point. We will primarily consider the nature of communication from a relational perspective and examine some concrete and specific everyday communicative phenomena. In order to stimulate classroom discussion and promote student-centered active learning, we adopt some innovative instructional methodologies and strategies (e.g., collaborative learning and writing, group presentation, flip teaching, etc.).
注意：2020年度については、科目指導のすべてをオンラインで行う。すべての学生がリモートで、Zoomを通じリアルタイムに授業参加する。またMoodle上にアップロードされた資料やフォーラム等も活用する。

このクラスの主な目的は、コミュニケーションに関するさまざまな概念や理論を「日常」の観点より概観することである。コミュニケーションとは他者との関係性であるという考え方の下、具体的な場における問題をコミュニケーション学的観点から多面的に考えていく。協働学修、反転授業など、アクティブラーニングの手法も積極的に取り入れる予定である。
