General Description (概要)
This course will give students the chance to participate in the United Nations University (UNU) Global Seminar. This course introduces current international problems and the role of the United Nations in working towards a solutions. The concrete theme of the course is different every year. Students have the opportunities to hear lectures from experts in the fields and discuss with these experts and fellow students from a large number of universities.

このコースでは、学生が国連大学のグローバルセミナーに参加し、昨今の国際的な課題やその解決に取り組む国連の役割について学ぶ。具体的なテーマは毎年異なり、様々な専門家の講義を聞き、様々な大学からの参加者と共に議論を行う。


This course introduces current international problems and the role of UN, international society in working towards a solutions.
The topic will be decided by UNU global seminar.

Grading Policy(成績評価基準)
Obtaining the course credits of QPPS501 Global Issues through this seminar
This seminar is also offered as Graduate School course QPPS501 Global Issues, and Graduate School and Undergraduate Students (Junior or higher) can both earn credits (2 credits in autumn term) by participating in this seminar and completing a designated assignment (15-page paper with reference and notes on an approved topic).

The assignment should be submitted to the Instructor by October 9 (Friday) after participation.

 
Expected study hour outside class(授業時間外学習)
Session participation is necessary.

Graduate Students: Register this course online through Registration Website along with other courses during Registration Period in Autumn term.
Undergraduate students (junior or higher): Online registration through Registration Website is available if the course QPPS501 Global Issues is co-listed by your Major/Minor. If not, please follow a special procedure at the Educational Affairs Group (not through Registration Website) during Registration Period in Autumn term.
