General Description (概要)
The prime object of this course is to introduce the outline of international organisations (IOs). The course is designed to focus on the basics of theory, history and practice of IOs.

本講の主たる目的は国際機構に関する基礎的理解であり、理論や歴史、実践に焦点を当てる。

The course in particular focuses on IO theories in order to help students understand the role of IOs in international relations. It also offers insights in actual operations of some IPs, especially UNHCR, based on the instructor's experiences in that IO.

Learning Goals(学習目標)
The students will learn analytic tools to understand what IOs are designed to do, how they work, what effects they have and how to design them better, with a focus on UNHCR (humanitarian organization) and UNDP (development organization). The students will have an opportunity to visit one of these organizations during the course. Audio visual materials will also be used.
