General Description (概要)
A historical study of the origin and development of the understanding of different human rights in various societies and their application in the fields of law, politics, economics and social relations. It is primarily concerned with Human Rights in Japan and Asia.

諸国民(特に日本とアジア)における人権思想の発生と展開、およびその特質を思想史的に考察する。

This course is designed as eight seminar classes in which students present their own research projects and link those projects to the study of human rights. Discussions on each of those projects will enhance each student's understanding of his/her own work. Students who are majoring in areas which are related to human rights are strongly encouraged to take this course.
