General Description (概要)

This course will examine social factors causing unequal distribution of social resources, especially focusing on race, ethnicity and gender, in an international perspective.
人種・民族、ジェンダーの視点からみた社会的資源の不平等な分配構造を国際的視野で分析する。
This course is an introduction to feminism and gender studies. The aim is for each attending student to deepen your understanding of gender and sexuality in Japan, and consider social problems from the perspective of gender.
この授業では、私たちが日常生活において「当たり前」だと思っている社会的・文化的事象が、人を男／女に区分する「知」であるジェンダーによっていかに規定されているのかを学ぶ。基本概念を学ぶことによってジェンダーの視点を修得し、現代の日本社会が抱える問題点を、ジェンダーの視点から考えられるようになることがこの授業の目的である。

Contents(内容)

[1st and 2nd week]
Offline task only: the following 1) and 2) are the tasks. You need not to watch video clip on Moodle between 04/09 and 04/21.
1) With the worldwide spread of COVID-19, UN Women is urging countries to respond appropriately to women-specific issues. Read the web site at the following URL and summarize what the women-specific issues are.

[2020年度特有の注意点]
第3週以降の講義は対面ではなく、講義動画をMoodleに掲載する。この動画は事前に録画したもので、生配信ではない。
授業参加率は毎回の課題提出をもって確認する。
資料や事務連絡等もMoodleに掲載するので、こまめにチェックすること。
Moodleのaccess keyは履修登録日（04/08）のよるに、履修登録者に対してメールで開示する。

Review: Reading documents introduced in class with referring to the handouts (about 3 hours).
